a soft and wondrous storm.
That chorused thunder and sent rain racing down window panes,
and yet they stood,
nestled together,
beneath an umbrella.
Cocooned in the warmth of their love.
Oh, how gentle a metaphor.
Oh, how sweet a whisper.
Let the world fall around you,
look into her eyes,
push the curled tendril of hair gently behind her ear,
and remember,
A day that that began in rain,
can still
end amidst the sparkles of champagne.

it poured on yours.
Perhaps even the sky knew that the love you share is the kind that endures.
And while the rain mingled with the tears running down your face,’
The sun broke through anointing you, this marriage, this moment, this place.
The light caught the drops making them shine,
Baptizing your vows of eternally mine.
Mountains bore witness to the rings you shared,
A love fostered so young, to which nothing compared.
In an open field, the image of creation vast,
Two beating hearts whispered at last.
